Integrated Communications and Marketing is a multimedia, service-focused communications and marketing operation that leads in shaping the impression of AARP by providing communications planning, marketing, support and execution for AARP's strategic business units.
Summary

This position is responsible for capturing high quality video and audio to be used in the creation of multimedia content by AARP Studios and others at AARP.

Reports to the Director of Operations for Studios.
Responsibilities
  • Capturing high quality video and audio and creating best-in-class multimedia services.
  • Working closely with the Production Coordinator to support the production and distribution of live/virtual events by performing various control room tasks as needed, including prompter, media playback and record, character generator, and others.
  • Ensure the maintenance of studio and field gear, and will research, identify and recommend new video and audio equipment for future acquisition in conjunction with the Director of Operations and the Chief Broadcast Engineer.
Requirements
  • Four year college degree in television production, communications, or related degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience as a videographer/multimedia specialist.
  • Proficient in all aspects of video production with strong emphasis in both studio and field shooting, lighting techniques, and audio recording.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong sense of color, style and composition.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic to advanced editing principles and techniques.
  • Solid understanding of video codecs, frame rates, compression strategies and delivery platforms.
  • Ability to maintain a variety of projects and work with varying production styles.
  • Excellent project management, communication and organizational skills.
  • High energy, positive attitude, ability to develop and communicate ideas.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a part of a team.
  • Must be available to work flexible schedule, to include weekends, evenings & some holidays.
  • Must be available for frequent overnight and weekend travel.

This position requires the physical ability to:
  • Lift and maneuver 20 lb. cameras with battery packs, often handheld on the shoulder for
  • Set up and tear down field light fixtures weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Set and adjust studio light fixtures weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • long periods of time.
  • Pack and unpack vehicles with camera, lighting and audio gear cases weighing up to 50 pounds each.
