MIL currently holds several multi-year contracts with NAWCAD in the areas of Cyber, C5ISR, and Information Technology systems.

Summary

The MIL Corporation is seeking an Engineering Technician III to support a Federal Government client at our Lexington Park, MD location.

Responsibilities

The Engineering Technician III performs assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents, receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed, performs recurring work independently. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions. This technician performs at this level one or a combination of such typical duties as:
  • Reading and following engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Assembling or installing equipment or parts requiring wiring, soldering, or connecting / terminating.
  • Mechanical assembly of simple to complex parts which may require fabrication of prototype engineering concepts.
  • Assembling fabricated items into project related platforms such as buildings, vehicles and modular or mobile transportable systems.
  • Performing site surveys at various sites to assess power infrastructure and determine if additional power is required for project requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • 6 or more years' experience in assembly of electrical, electronic machine or mechanical parts by drawings, specific instructions, or standard procedure. Experience with transit case, vehicular and facility based systems.
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematic diagrams
  • J-STD-001 certified
  • IPC-A-610 or IPC-A-620 certified
  • Understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) guidelines
  • Comprehension of single and three phase power configurations with ability to perform load calculations to assess power draw requirements for new equipment installation.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic electrical issues within government facilities
  • Must be able to work independently with limited supervision
  • Must have customer relations experience and ability to converse with the customer professionally, to address customer concerns or questions.
  • Must be able to travel to various locations in support of projects. Travel requirements vary depending on the project.

High school diploma or equivalent

Clearance

All applicants for this position must possess a current TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility; please note that the clearance process considers financial background aspects.
