Cohen is actively seeking a well-organized, detail-oriented Assurance Staff Accountant with 1-2 years of experience as an accountant responsible for performing work within an assurance and audit department. Responsibilities of the Assurance Senior Manager/Director may include: Primarily focuses on detail testing, including cash, other current assets, fixed assets, accounts payable, accrued expenses, and compliance. Gain an understanding of the client business operations and objectives; utilizes this information throughout the engagement. Develop effective work paper techniques and correct documentation skills. Enter client provided trial balance information. Prepare bank, investment, loan and legal confirmation requests. Develop an understanding and proficiency in the engagement areas of audit, review, compilation, preparation, and AUP. Perform sample selection procedures. Prepare less complicated financial statements and footnote disclosures. Provide consistent updates to seniors and managers on engagement progress. Other responsibilities as assigned. The candidate must possess these abilities: Demonstrates a positive, professional attitude and desire to advance. Help maintain a professional and team-oriented environment. Follow firm procedures and policies. Take ownership of assigned engagement tasks including communicating the status and progress of those tasks and complete within timeframe. Identify potential risk on projects and seeks guidance. Request and learns from feedback. Actively seeks work and communicates availability to manager. Attend professional development and training sessions to keep up to date with regulatory and industry changes and to meet your individual ECC CPE plan Requirements Qualified candidates must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States. Education/Certifications Must have a bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field. Prefer CPA certification or planned CPA certification within 3 years. Encouraged to be actively working toward the 150 credit hours to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam. As an E.
