Key Accountabilities & Decision Ownership:
  • Ensures building equipment and interiors continuously function or operate efficiently, effectively and safely through coordination of timely cleaning, repairs and maintenance; with 24-hour on call availability and contact for after hour's emergencies
  • Proficiency in facility maintenance to scope, price and complete maintenance projects domestically and internationally.
  • Manage cross-functional teams including close coordination with Security, IT, and HR on behalf of shared internal client
  • Implements, oversees, and directs facility projects relative to employee relocations, furniture installations and re-configurations and new construction.
  • Understand and align Workplace strategies to corporate cultural and employee experience ambitions. Develop and implement those Workplace strategies globally to optimize and evolve the portfolio.
  • Review and recommendation phases of office equipment and supplies and controls facility inventory, services. Ensure timely response to internal work order system
  • Performs as a member of the Safety committee and emergency building contact. Oversees the implementation of the safety and security plan, training programs and drills
  • Oversees and maintains security and ID access card system and instructs employees on security protocols. Responsible for accurate and timely metrics and reporting
  • Management of Facilities team with accountability and oversight of their responsibilities. Gives strategic direction associated with facilities management and ensures applicable consistency across the real estate portfolio
  • Define and manage Appian's sustainability program including the data collection on established key metrics.
  • Direct the implementation of sustainability initiatives in real estate including benchmarking the global real estate portfolio and developing asset level plans and investments around energy efficiency, smart buildings, health and wellness, carbon emissions, and climate risk.
  • Develop and manage annual Capital budgets
  • Review and negotiation of applicable facilities vendors and contractors
  • Lead, engage and develop a team of workplace professionals with goals that advance the Real Estate and Workplace strategic plan

Must Have:
  • 10+ years of related experience in corporate real estate, sustainability, facilities maintenance, modular furniture systems, and project management
  • Bachelor's degree in business, facilities management, engineering, real estate, or property management. MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in running a multi-office global environment and running a Workplace/Facilities program and team
  • Experience in defining and implementing a sustainability strategy and program for like sized company
  • Ability to work independently with no on site supervision
  • Must be able to remain calm, pleasant, and professional while experiencing frequent interruptions; must work well under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize work and multi-task to meet multiple deadlines effectively.
  • May require occasional domestic/international travel
  • Job includes lifting, moving equipment and limited outdoor duties
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

Technical / Professional Qualifications:
  • Must have experience working with MS Office, MS Project, and Google Suite
  • Read and interpret documents such as blueprints, real estate contracts, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • AutoCad experience a plus
