ASRC Federal Technical Services (ASTS) is responsible for managing the NASA Goddard Software Engineering Services II (SES II) contract. This includes the following software engineering capabilities: Systems Engineering, Ground Software, Flight Software, Flight System V&V, IT Development, Science System Development and Data Processing. We are seeking a self-motivated Senior Network Analyst to provide support for monitoring and troubleshooting network performance on the EBnet local-area and the EOSDIS wide-area networks. This task consists of a small team (2-4 members) responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting network performance on the EBnet local-area and the EOSDIS wide-area networks. Additional responsibilities include hardware and cloud prototyping, middleware scripting, and general network flow analysis. The team works with but is not strictly a part of the larger network operations group. Responsibilities Manage and maintain existing network monitoring tool suites, both active and passive (eg, perfSONAR, Riverbed NetProfiler) Manage and maintain data repositories derived from these tool suites Provide regular reporting and ad hoc analysis of this data Create Python scripts or other coded solutions to satisfy emerging reporting and analysis needs Evaluate COTS and open source solutions for possible integration into our monitoring/troubleshooting environment Assist in troubleshooting network performance issues as they emerge Assist in hardware and cloud prototyping efforts Assist in documenting network interconnect and data transfer requirements ASRC Federal and its Subsidiaries are Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employers.
