Summary

About the Position: This position serves in the G3 Force Management Section of the U.S. Army 20th Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Explosive (CBRNE) Command, a Major Subordinate Command level organization. The 20th CBRNE Command exercises control over units located throughout a large geographic area. The 20th CBRNE Command will exercise Command and Control of full-spectrum CBRNE operations and provide technical reach-back in support of Combatant Commanders and U.S. Federal Agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as a Force Integrator with the primary responsibility to identify tasks, clarify roles and functions, establish milestones, develop force integration directives, policies and guidance, and resolve conflicts.
  • This is pursuant to the execution of the fielding of new material systems throughout the Major Subordinate Command (MSC) in support of an approved force development program.
  • Introduce, incorporate and sustain organizational, doctrinal and materiel change in Force Management programs.
  • Participate in process action teams or similar working groups in order to execute administrative adjustments to Table of Organizational Equipment (TOE),
  • Modified Table of Organizational Equipment (MTOE), and Augmentation Table of Distribution and Allowances (AUGTDA).
  • Represents the Major Subordinate Command (MSC) and the G3-Force Management Section at meetings and conferences with Headquarters Department of the Army, U.S. Armed Forces Command (FORSCOM), Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC),
  • Commodity Fielding Commands, and subordinate units, regarding Force Management issues.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This is a temporary position.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) for the duration of employment.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to pre-employment drug testing and random drug testing thereafter.
  • Business travel of up to 25%.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. In order to qualify for this position you must have on year of specialized experience which includes 1) assist in developing force management policies for an organization; 2) assist in establishing milestones for force management programs; AND 3) represent the organization at force management meetings or conferences. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level position in the federal service (GS-11)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

  • If filled by a candidate that is not a current permanent Army employee, the position may be filled as a Temporary Appointment NTE anytime between 1-3 years, as determined by management. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of 3 years.
  • This temporary promotion/reassignment may be terminated earlier than the aforementioned NTE date at management's discretion. Upon termination or expiration of the temporary position the employee will be returned to their former position that is comparable to his or her permanent position (i.e. same series, grade, pay and duty location).
