Qualifications
ASSESSMENT FACTORS
1. Understanding of psychology principles, concepts, and techniques to accomplish difficult and
complex work including the development of new methods, approaches, or procedures specific to psychological assessment.
2. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills to compose and deliver responses to complex questions in a clear, concise, and organized manner.
3. Experience developing and justifying new initiatives that streamline programs and increase awareness of mental, behavioral, or social health issues.
4. Experience proposing program, process or policy changes required to enhance organizational efficiency and eliminate barriers to organizational success.
5. Engages the client on routine to complex issues to ensure their needs and those of the organization are met
HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS
1. Prior experience in the intelligence and/or military community.
2. SERE Certified Psychologist.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
Ph.D. in Psychology or Psy.D. from an APA-Accredited program.
Completion of APA or APPIC approved pre-doctoral internship is highly desired.
A PhD degree satisfies the education and experience required to quality at the GG-11 level. To qualify at a higher grade, specialized experience which is in or directly-related to the line of work of the position and which has equipped the individual with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position is required.
LICENSE and CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS
DIA psychologists, except those applying for or designated as supervisory/non-supervisory research psychologists, must possess and maintain active state licensure as a clinical psychologist and must be, and remain in, good standing.
Individuals applying for a psychologist position that requires state licensure must provide a list of the states where they are licensed as a clinical psychologist, copies of all current licenses, and license numbers & license expiration dates if this information is not identified on the license.

DIA positions are Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) positions in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1601. All applicants must be U.S. citizens at the time of application. Applicants must meet the agency's conditions of employment, to include, but not limited to, satisfactory completion of an initial special background investigation and periodic reinvestigation, completion of any required medical examination and physical requirements, completion of any required personal interviews, favorable completion of any required initial or aperiodic polygraph examinations, completion of any required drug test, satisfactory completion of a two-year Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System trial period, and completion of a civilian mobility agreement. All employees are required to sign an agreement not to disclose, in any fashion, classified information to unauthorized persons. All civilian employees are required to participate in the DoD Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer of Pay (DD/EFT) Program.
