Electricity Information Sharing and Analysis Center (E-ISAC) Director Security Operations Affect the lives of 400 million people across North America At the E-ISAC we help asset owners and operators sustain the reliability of the North American electric grid by monitoring and analyzing cyber and physical risks, providing timely and actionable information, and other product and services. In support of our mission, we also work closely with US and Canadian federal agencies, industry trade associations and other strategic partners including other ISAC's and technology vendors. The energy sector and electric grid is rapidly changing and introducing new business and operating models, distributed energy resources, and risks. As the Director Security Operations you can make a difference by helping to ensure the sector is aware of security threats and mitigation techniques. The Director of Security Operations is responsible for running our 24x7 Watch Operations Center and Physical Security Analysis Teams. These teams monitor and analyze evolving cyber and physical threats, and distribute relevant and actionable intelligence as well as other products and services to asset owners and operators and other key stakeholders. This mission critical position requires strong emotional intelligence and leadership skills, a creative mindset, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and employee engagement. A strong understanding of cyber and physical security risks, security maturity models and frameworks, as well as strong project management and communications skills are also critical for success. Energy sector experience is preferred but not required. This position is a member of the organization's lead management team and currently reports directly to the CEO of the E-ISAC. The Director will be responsible for the development and supervision of approximately 12-15 employees and contractors. You will . Develop and lead the Security Operations team and oversee the 24x7 monitoring and analysis of cyber and physical risks, distribution of timely and actionable information, and other product and services . Support response to critical industry incidents . Develop and maintain statistical trends associated with cyber and physical security incidents, threats, and vulnerabilities . Collaborate and sustain productive relationships with other colleagues across NERC and the E-ISAC, asset owners and operators, and other key stakeholders including, but not limited to, government agencies, regions, trade associations, etc. . Identify needs and communicate requirements for data, technology, and human capital tools and enhancements to the Business Process and Platform Management team . Develop and deliver products and services in support of the E-ISAC Mission, Vision and Strategy . Use key performance metrics to measure success and efficiency of your team Develop and maintain the E-ISAC's business plan and budget Job Requirements: You will enjoy and be successful in this role if . You have a track record as an emotionally intelligent senior leader in complex, team-oriented environments that can creatively solve problems, make decisions, and consistently achieve results . You actively foster a diverse and inclusive work environment and are skilled at motivating and leading teams of dedicated professionals . You possess a strong understanding of current and emerging cyber and physical security risks and threats especially those impacting the electricity sector . You have experience running a security operations center, data center or customer call center . You have a customer centric attitude and seek to understand the needs of the stakeholders you serve . You possess exemplary oral and written communications skills and are comfortable engaging various levels of colleagues, stakeholders, management and board members You hold a bachelor's degree, ideally in a technical field or public policy, or possess the equivalent combination of education and industry experience to demonstrate your ability to address the requirements of this position; graduate education and other certifications are also desirable . You possess or are eligible to secure a high level US Government clearance (Top Secret and above) Other . You will need to undergo a background check prior to employment and will, in compliance with federal law, be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire. . The E-ISAC is based in Washington DC and you will be expected to report this location on a regular basis or as operational conditions dictate.
