Join our team and thrive in a career that matters to the world and you personally.SummaryWe are looking for a highly motivated radar mission data expert to help build the US Government' next-generation GEOINT mission processing architecture. The selected candidate will serve as a senior technical advisor in acquiring state-of-the-art radar mission processing software applications and services for deployment into a commercial cloud environment. The candidate will work shoulder-to-shoulder with software developers as part of an agile team to deliver a robust, resilient, and responsive mission data processing chain. The candidate will partner with Aerospace's body of industry-leading subject matter experts to explore new technologies and solve complex technical challenges for the US Government.Key FunctionsServes as a senior advisor to the US Government in acquiring state-of-the-art software applications for GEOINT radar mission data processingLeads small teams of Aerospace subject matter experts in maturing new technologies, integrating new systems and sensors, and delivering a resilient, responsive GroundCollaborates with an agile team of acquisition professionals and industry software developers to rapidly field new software capabilities in a dynamic mission environmentProactively identifies new technologies and commercially available capabilities for integration into the frameworkKey functions for the Level 3 Sr. Project Engineer may also include:Coordinates with enterprise stakeholders to ensure that user needs are properly understood and satisfiedAssists the US Government in formulating acquisition strategies for achieving its architectural visionParticipates in pre-solicitation efforts and source selections to help the government achieve best-value solutions from industryRequiredFor a Level 2 Project Engineer position the following are required:Bachelor's degree in an engineering, scientific, or related field from a recognized institution8 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experienceExpertise in radar remote sensing or radar image science; or experience in acquiring or developing radar remote sensing applicationsAbility to solve complex problems and deliver impartial assessments to customersHigh level of innovation, creativity, and personal initiativeStrong written and oral communication skillsTravel as necessary to support job requirementsAbility to occasionally flex work schedule to accommodate deadlinesThis position requires the ability to have and maintain a current and active TS/SSBI/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the US Government. US citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.In addition to the above, the Level 3 Sr. Project Engineer position requires12 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experienceStrong experience with the systems engineering and software development lifecyclesExperience with US Government acquisition and systems engineering processes, including supporting readiness reviews and verification and validation activitiesExperience working with software developers in a technical oversight role, such as supporting software release planning, quality assurance, deployment, or sustainmentPreferredAdvanced degree in imaging science, computer science/engineering, systems engineering, electrical engineering, or a related engineering or scientific fieldExperience with agile-based software development, high-performance computing, and commercial cloud environments such as Amazon Web ServicesWays We Reward Our Employees During your interview process, our team will provide all the details of our industry-leading benefits and career development opportunities.
