Reporting to the Controller, this newly created position oversees daily accounting functions, operating rather independently to provide timely reporting, reconciliations and month end close. Primary Responsibilities include but not limited to:Oversee daily accounting functions required for loan funding and loan purchases journal entries.Post journal entries for daily cash activity with daily reconciliations.Prepare weekly and monthly account reconciliations.Prepare balance sheet account roll forward schedules.Assist with month-end close process, which will include posting journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.Perform the calculation of complex commission compensation for sales team.Responsible for the processing of company payroll on a bi-weekly basis.Support the Controller and Accounting team with ad-hoc projects.RequirementsBS in Accounting/Finance; Master's Degree or CPA is preferableAt least 5 years' experience in accounting or auditing in a corporate environment; preferably with at least 2 years' experience at a Senior level.2-3 years' experience in accounting or auditing in the financial services industry, preferably in mortgage banking.Experience with loan level accounting systems and procedures.Attributes:Meticulous attention to detail.Excellent organization skills.Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines.Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees.Superior analytical and problem-solving skillsAdvanced excel skills with experience using pivot tables, lookups, and sumif functionsWe are an equal opportunity employer and make hiring decisions based on merit.
