Our veteran bankers are experienced with the various loan programs offered, and as one of the top multifamily loan servicers we remain committed to providing superior customer service before, during and after loan closing.The Affordable Housing Underwriter 1 within Multifamily Capital will, in coordination with our screening and closing teams and under the supervision of a senior underwriter, will be responsible for processing affordable housing loan requests with a focus on GSE transactions.Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to: Collecting and reviewing required financial and compliance documents and preliminary analysis of credit for MFC clients for the processing of multifamily GSE (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) affordable loans Preparing the underwriting diligence package and works closely with the client to obtain underwriting documentation ensuring it meets Bank and GSE requirements Coordination of the various Bank and GSE required compliance checks and reviews. Performing property inspections Preliminary analysis of credit of borrowers and sponsors Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae loan processing guidelines and requirements, with specific focus on affordable housing programs Building and maintaining strong relationship with various partners both throughout Multifamily Capital and, more broadly, the Wells Fargo Commercial Real Estate (CRE) business line as well as our GSE partners. Working closely with Community Lending and Investment (CLI) on transactions wherein the groups partner Working closely with WF Construction Monitoring group to process and close loans on rehabilitations and new constructionEmployees support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions.
