Tenured Endowed Full Professor Department of Social Work

The Department of Social Work invites applications for a nine-month, tenured Endowed Full Professor faculty position focusing on child and family welfare, health, and well-being, and/or children's and women's rights. The Endowed Full Professor position requires that the scholar's research focuses on Latin America, Africa, Asia, and/or the Middle East.

About the College: The College of Health and Human Services is located in the new Peterson Family Health Science Hall, which has 165,000 square feet of offices, conference rooms, classrooms, and wet and dry labs. The College has accredited degree programs in Social Work, Global and Community Health, Health Administration and Policy, Nutrition and Food Studies, and Nursing. The College's research infrastructure includes DSHI (Discovery Science and Health Informatics Center with a Machine Learning Lab), imaging resources (DEXA, fMRI, movement capture) as well as physical and metabolic human assessment tools. The College operates a Population Health Center that supports primary and behavioral health care, research, and training and where the Department of Social Work's faculty and students, alongside their transdisciplinary collaborators and community partners, can deliver behavioral health and work together to address some of the profession's most pressing social challenges. About the Department: The Department of Social Work has internationally recognized faculty for their expertise in areas of behavioral health, older adults, children and youth, and immigration, with a proud history of faculty-student-community research collaborations. The Department of Social Work offers BSW and MSW degree programs with an educational and research mission focusing on practice and policy interventions that improve health and well-being and promote economic and social justice, particularly for marginalized individuals, families, and communities. It has recently launched a highly-enrolled online MSW degree program and is building a PhD degree. The department comprises 18 faculty and serves approximately 200 BSW and 275 MSW students.

Responsibilities: The successful candidates will be expected to: * Develop or continue a program of original research; * Engage in collaborative research; * Teach and mentor students; * Establish and/or bring an extramurally funded research program; * Engage in professional service in support of advancing the College's mission; * To the extent possible, faculty will be expected to synergistically contribute to the development of courses, degree programs, and research.

Required Qualifications: * An earned doctoral degree in social work or closely-related discipline; * An earned MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program and two or more years of post-MSW practice experience; * Ability to teach BSW and MSW practice courses and mentor undergraduate and graduate students; * Research focus on child and family welfare, health, and well-being, and/or children's and women's rights; * Research focuses on Latin America, Africa, Asia, and/or the Middle East; * Evidence of research excellence as measured by a positive trajectory of refereed publications in high impact journals and professional service; * Evaluations of qualifications are relative to professional rank; candidates for full professor appointments must have stature as extramurally funded principal investigators and meet the University's criteria for tenure.

Preferred Qualifications: * Candidates for full professorships ideally will have experience with nontraditional adult learning and online teaching and evidence of mentoring doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows for academic appointments; * Preference will be given to candidates who can teach a range of direct practice/clinical courses for BSW/MSW students; * Researchers conducting clinical social work intervention research on trauma and/or violence.
