Director, Diversity Talent Acquisition

As the Director of Diversity Talent Acquisition, you'll play a key role in supporting Capital One's robust diversity recruiting strategy, championed by our CEO. The successful candidate will be a proven, innovative leader who understands how to take programs from ideation to execution and then scale them across the enterprise - with a primary focus on campus recruiting . Your work will focus on creating strategies and programming focused on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) , and organizations that support students from underrepresented groups. As an experienced people leader, you'll lead a team of recruiters and recruiting managers in driving Capital One's campus diversity recruitment strategy, roadmap and goals. Y ou will partner closely with Capital One's Enterprise Campus Talent Acquisition team, Talent Brand & Marketing team, External Affairs and key business stakeholders to integrate the overarching strategy into our "OneCampus" model. By creating strong relationships with both internal business partners and external organizations, you'll lead the team to deliver on our strategy while staying current on market trends and innovative recruiting techniques. This role reports to the Senior Director, Diversity Talent Acquisition.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Capital One's Campus Diversity Recruiting function, including our HBCUs and HSIs recruiting strategy, external partnerships, early engagement programs and early talent sourcing
  • Lead a team of recruiting professionals, ensuring they are aligned to high-impact work in support of our goals
  • Create and implement diversity sourcing and recruiting strategies to hire highly sought after talent across a variety of job families, including Software Engineering, Business Analysis, Product Management and Data Science
  • Focus on innovation and ideation in diversity recruiting to create unique solutions in support of our world-class recruiting organization
  • Understand customer needs and expectations and deliver solutions through active listening and leveraging a consultative approach
  • Ensure operational excellence, focusing on quality, process efficiency, governance and risk management
  • Utilize data and an analytics to inform and optimize strategy, influence business partners and senior leaders, and understand market trends to inform decisions
  • Build the brand of Enterprise Diversity Recruiting both internally and externally using storytelling
  • Place a key focus on talent - building, developing, and leading high performing teams from all backgrounds and experiences
  • Inspire and attract the world's best HR talent
  • Up to 30% Travel (post-COVID)


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in full life cycle corporate recruiting, research, and sourcing
  • At least 5 years of experience in diversity and inclusion or diversity recruiting


Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 12 years of experience in client-facing, consultative roles
  • At least 12 years of experience leading and managing teams
  • At least 12 years of experience using data to conduct analysis and present results to various stakeholders
  • At least 5 years of experience in campus or university recruiting
  • Proficiency in recruiting tools and technology
  • Knowledge & understanding of DEI best practices in regards to talent attraction, recruitment and equitable candidate selection and engagement
