Undergraduate Recruiter

The George Mason University Schar School of Policy and Government invites applications for an Undergraduate Recruiter. About the Department: The Schar School of Policy and Government provides undergraduate and graduate students the skills, knowledge, and analytic abilities to be leaders and managers in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors.

Responsibilities: The Undergraduate Recruiter is a key member of the Schar School's undergraduate admissions effort. The Recruiter will be a positive, knowledgeable, friendly representative of the Schar School whose responsibility will be to interface, one-on-one and at larger events, with prospective and admitted undergraduates and their families.

The Recruiter will generate lists of prospective students and build relationships with them in order to recruit them to Schar. The position will also coordinate outreach to current Mason students and student organizations to generate interest in Schar School programs and concentrations.

Secondarily, the position will tackle a wide range of administrative assignments pertaining to undergraduate recruitment.

Additional duties include:

* Serve as a point of contact for potential students and their parents by managing inquiries, making prompt and effective contact with prospective and admitted students in person, via videoconferencing, by phone, and in writing; * Schedule and lead tours of the Schar School with interested students and their families; have a presence on campus on evenings, weekends, and holidays when prospective students and their families do college visits; * Generate excitement and interest in Schar School subject matter and/or degrees among current Mason students outside of the Schar School; speak one-on-one with current Mason students about Schar School programs, concentrations, courses, and student opportunities; * Connect prospective students and their families to Schar School advisors or specific faculty members as appropriate; * Represent the Schar School at recruitment events with enthusiasm, knowledge and resourcefulness while promoting Schar School bachelor's degree programs. * Assist in planning and implementing Schar School admissions events such as Schar School visit day, and on-campus recruiting events such as open houses, webinars, information sessions, class visits, course samplers, and other yield events, to include efforts targeting currently enrolled Mason students; * Build relationships with the undergraduate student liaisons, the Schar School Ambassadors, and the Schar School Peer Advisors and connect prospective students to current students appropriately.

Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required, preferably in admissions, marketing, communications, business administration or related field.
