Payroll Manager for a midsized company in the Government Contracting Industry.

Essential Job Functions:

Supervision of a Payroll Team of 3 through all aspects of the payroll processing to include:

Timesheet (Labor) Processing through Deltek Costpoint Time and Expense Module

Payroll Processing through UKG Pro for about 1900 employees located in multiple states.

Responsible for the administration of Deltek Time and Expense Module as it pertains to timesheets.

Manage and ensure compliance with company policy and statutory federal, state and local tax withholding, and labor and payroll regulations as they relate to reporting and filing.

Prepare registration in new jurisdictions for payroll taxes coordinate with Legal when required.

Protect sensitive employee information.

Manage workflow to ensure all labor and payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely within the prescribed deadlines.

Develop and mentor Payroll administrators to ensure knowledge transfer.

Manage employee inquires to insure prompt customer service.

Manage the reconciliation of payroll related general ledger accounts, quarter end tax payments and labor to gross pay.

Manage the reporting process for the payroll department including but not limited to monthly, quarterly and annual reports including W-2 reporting and reconciliation.

Work in a collaborative manner with Human Resources department.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Bachelor of Science degree and 5 years of payroll experience.

Minimum 3 years of management experience.

Experienced and proficient with Deltek Costpoint General Ledger and T & E Modules and UKG Pro HRMS (or other HRMS) related to the importing of timesheets, labor processing, payroll processing, payroll taxes, and leave processing.

Detailed knowledge of best industry practices related to payroll.

Maintains knowledge of payroll related legislation; adherence to requirements and advising management of new legislation and the appropriate action to be taken.

Experienced with General Ledger Reconciliations.

Proficiency with Excel and MS Word.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects in a fast paced environment, while displaying a strong work ethic and high degree of professionalism.

Strong communication skills both oral and written.

Desired Skills:

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), preferred.

Ability to use Access and Cognos preferred.
