Principal Associate, Cyber Risk and Issue Management

As a Cyber Risk and Issue Management associate you will play a key role in enhancing the risk and issue management processes across Capital One's Cyber Organization. As part of the Risk and Issue Management Program, you will collaborate with fellow Cyber organization team members, partner with first and second line to establish methods to proactively monitor and manage Cyber's risks while ensuring remediation activities are tracked and successfully remediated. The Cyber Risk and Issue Management team members are experienced and progressive individuals that operate within a highly collaborative team environment to drive organizational change through risk identification, measurement, analysis, and reporting in order to better manage Cyber's risks. Successful candidates will be detail oriented, results focused, with strong analytical, planning, strategic thinking, organizational and communication skills, and an understanding of cyber and technology risk management.

Responsibilities:
  • Support implementing continual program enhancements based on industry standards and best practices related to risk management (especially technology risk) and aligned with Capital One's strategic risk direction
  • Gather risk and issue data and reporting; perform initial analysis or potentially evaluate data provided by Cyber teams
  • Build successful relationships across the enterprise to understand the impact of cyber risks and mitigation strategies
  • Analyze information to proactively identify risks, trends, and process improvements; supporting reporting on risk topics to management
  • Develop strategies to improve issue tracking and risk reporting using data and technology
  • Develop and enhance processes, tools, templates, and job aides
  • Continuously improve Cyber's issue tracking reports
  • Continuously improve Cyber's risk management reports
  • Write and revise documents such as policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines
  • Manage, implement, and deliver on a subset of the program deliverables
  • Draft, contribute to, edit, and deliver presentations that aid in the design, development, refinement, and usage of risk methods
  • Assist and drive project and program delivery, including project and process management, reporting, engagement in senior leadership meetings, drafting, and reviewing materials for senior management, the Board of directors, and other governance activities


Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  • At least 3 years of Risk Management Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience supporting business clients
  • At least 1 year of Project Management experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 + years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects in Risk
  • 2 + years of Risk Management experience in a Cyber or Information Security practice
  • Knowledgeable in areas of cloud risk, governance, control, and security
  • Tableau dashboard development experience
  • CISA, CISM, CRISC, Security+, CISSP, or other Industry Risk Professional Certification
