Summary

This position is located in the Office of Management, Financial Management Division, Financial Systems Branch in Washington, DC.

The Financial Systems Analyst is responsible for working with the Financial Management Information System, which consists of comprehensive systems of administrative accounting and budgeting, performance reporting, fiscal controls, travel management, programs evaluation, personal property and procurement systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provides maintenance support of the Bureau's financial and mixed financial systems to perform account management functions and provide Helpdesk support for the ATF user community.
  • Serves as an expert and an assistannt to the Assistant Financial Manager (Systems) in the day-to-day operations and maintenance support of ATF's Unified Financial Management System (UFMS), E-2 Travel System (E-Travel), WebTA, Business Objects, and mixed financial systems (and associated interfaces.
  • Participates in the planning, designing, implementing and evaluating of financial management systems, assuring that these systems are in conformance with ATF policies and objectives; and guidance issued by GAO, OMB.
  • Oversees the technical aspects of the Bureau's financial and mixed financial systems and is responsible for managing the various interfaces.
  • Coordinates functional testing of software patches, releases, and upgrades to ATF financial systems.
  • Develops reports and conducts training on ATF financial systems function, use and processes.

Qualifications

To qualify for GS-13, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-12.

Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Examples of specialized experience include experience with financial management concepts, principles, practices, laws, regulations and accounting policies, systems, and procedures to provide staff direction and guidance in the design, implementation and enhancement of the automated financial management system; Experience with automated system characteristics and capabilities to analyze and evaluate major problems and to recommend financial management policies, procedures, guidance, and internal controls; Experience in design architecture functions and uses of the hardware and software used by the Financial Management Information System.

The GS-13 salary range starts at $103, 690.00. If you are a new federal (civil service) employee, your starting salary will be set at the Step 1 for this position and the grade level for which you are selected.
