Duties
Summary
This position will report to the Environment Management Team Lead and serves as a team member responsible for developing, participating in, and assisting with coordinating duties and projects for systems and database administrators and engineers.

Responsibilities
The duties of the position include, but are not limited to:Working on systems, network, and database administration for case management and related systems for federal appellate, district, and bankruptcy court judges and staff, probation and pretrial services officers, federal defenders, and external stakeholders. Facilitating requirements gathering and analysis. Designing operational reports associated with applications, servers, databases, and Web Services. Leveraging best practices to improve the quality of the software code being deployed into a production environment. Educating, training, and driving systems, network, and database support best practices throughout the systems lifecycle. Validating and supporting the release and mechanisms used to release applications, patches, firmware, and middleware to the higher-level environments; Serving as a team member of infrastructure projects and working directly with government employees and contractors to facilitate successful project execution and ensure timely deliverables. Mentoring personnel to ensure efficient operation of the infrastructure. Holding all team members and internal/external partners accountable to deliver on established standards and project timelines. Continually improving the efficiency of the Environment Management Branch through effective leadership, individual and group training, and process improvement. Escalating issues and concerns with proposed solutions to the management team in a timely manner. Providing regular status updates to senior management through written reports and in related status meetings. Representing the organization in multiple efforts. Evaluating and recommending technical solutions that solve business needs. Developing and presenting alternatives of analysis to management. Providing regular communication, both written and oral to division and branch chiefs.

Failure to successfully complete the trial period may result in termination of employment. If appointed to a temporary position, management may have the discretion of converting the position to permanent depending upon funding and staffing allocation. Relocation expenses may be provided, but only if authorized by the Director of the AO.

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience in infrastructure development, operations, Environment Management, process improvement, and the ITIL processes.
Education
This position does not require education to qualify.
