The Nurse Education Specialist reports directly to the Director of Professional Development and Practice and is responsible for facilitating the professional development and lifelong learning activities of nurses to enhance their professional competence and role performance (ANA, NNSPO, 2010). The Education Specialist is responsible for managing overall professional development programs, providing relevant education to nurses, maintaining and enhancing clinical competence, fostering a positive outlook on lifelong learning, directing the development of educational activities and planning programs that increase breadth and depth of nurses' knowledge. The Education Specialist demonstrates professionalism at all times and is an integral part of the nursing leadership team, representing their department at all levels of the organization* Educate patients and family through the continuum of care while striving to advance your own knowledge and skills.* Demonstrate professionalism, adhere to ANA standards of practice, and exemplify the Adventist HealthCare values as they fulfill our nursing mission and vision.* Utilize equipment and technology correctly, delegate non-nursing duties appropriately to maximize efficiency and effectiveness Qualifications include:* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required, MSN preferred * Valid Maryland RN license required* Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and ACLS required* 5 years of current Clinical Specialty in Critical CareAt Adventist HealthCare our job is to care for you.
