Employment Type:Full timeShift:Day ShiftDescription:**$15,000 BONUS ELIGIBLE**They will oversee the onboarding of new staff and the running of the critical care course required by all RN's working in 6E and Joint and Spine. The Nurse educator also supports quality initiatives and compliance to all core measures. The educator for 6E and J will help support the center of excellence for JGeneral Summary: The Clinical Practice Specialist (CPS) is the clinical expert in evidence-based nursing practice within a specialty area. The CPS functions both autonomously and in collaboration with other health care providers to manage, support, and coordinate the care of acute and/or critically ill patients. This position is responsible and accountable for:Designing, implementing, and evaluating both patient-specific and population-based programs of care. Providing leadership in advancing the practice of nursing to achieve quality and cost effective patient outcomes as well as provide leadership of multidisciplinary groups in designing and implementing innovative alternative solutions that address system problems and/or patient care issues. Providing clinical teaching and supervision, and directing patient assignment for new and experienced staff.Directing and providing staff development, including training and orientation. Participating in performance evaluation and management including verbal coaching and counseling. The authority to exercise these responsibilities often requires the use of independent judgement. The CPS supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.Minimum Licensure/Certification Required (if applicable):Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. National certification in clinical specialty required - must be acquired by the end of the probationary 6th month period to remain in the role. Role certification preferred. BLS and/or ACLS Instructor Status preferred.Minimum Skills, and Abilities Required:Masters Degree - clinical or non-clinical focus. Teaching experience preferred.Minimum five (5) years related clinical experience. If hired with a substantially different clinical knowledge set, the candidate will be expected to demonstrate clinical expertise in the practice area within 6 months.Demonstrated skills at the level of an advanced practice nurse as evidenced by portfolio, recommendation letters, references, interview, and demonstration.In leadership, communication, collaboration, mentoring, and changeTo utilize evidence to develop, teach, guide, and implement practice standards and policies.Demonstrated ability at the level of an advanced practice nurse Available to meet educational needs on all shifts. Computer skills using various applications: Internet, email, word processing, presentation, and database.Working Conditions:Physical Requirements: Ability to lift patients up to 35 pounds.Visual Acuity: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.Environmental Conditions: The worker is subject to hazards.
