DescriptionSr. Data Analyst - Data ManagementLocation: Fairfax, VAJob ID: 1175*U.S. Citizenship required - Must be able to obtain Secret clearanceDatastrong is growing and looking for a data-oriented self-starter who is an expert in data management. You will be an SME when it comes to our clients' data - provide expertise on what data needs to be in our systems, where is it coming from, and where is it going. You will determine how data is moving between the systems and be focused on the data, not necessarily the business outcomes. You will be hands-on with the customers and technologists, but also need to be a self-starter and work independently. To be successful in this role you will need expertise in:- Data verification- Data validation- End-to-end systems data management- Troubleshooting source to target data- SQLKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to test and validate data streams end-to-end, including data aggregations and complex derived metricsStrong SQL skills Ability to gain data knowledge specific to the program and client's systems to become a data SME on the programAdept at troubleshooting source to target data in multiple systems and platforms (database and web interfaces)Self-starter who is proficient at troubleshooting and running data analyses independently, without step-by-step instructionsExperience in tracing source to target data lineage and prior experience in data modelingKnowledge or experience with business intelligence tools, such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, Business Objects, Cognos or Power BIUnderstanding of all aspects of the software development lifecycle including assisting clients with defining and implementing technology solutionsExperience in turning client data requirements into technical specificationsExcellent presentation and interpersonal skills; capability to resolve complex problemsPrior experience working in PostgreSQL and/or Redshift databases a plusBuilding Excel templates and possibly working with custom VBA when neededKnowledge or experience with Data warehousing and Health Information Systems (eg DHIS2/DATIM platforms) Exposure and experience in International Development settings Strong leadership, communication and management skills Familiarity with Python for data analytics and/or data integration, R or SAS is a plusEducation, Experience, & CertificationsMinimum of 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's degreeDegree in Information Technology/Engineering/Math or corresponding work experienceHold appropriate certifications.U.S. Citizenship is required - Must be able to obtain US Secret clearanceAbout DatastrongDatastrong is the foremost provider of data consulting services.
