Overview JHNA is seeking a Mid Software Engineer/Analyst to join our growing team in Alexandria, VA, supporting the OUSD(R) Prototypes and Experiments (P) Mission.OUSD(R) Prototype and Experiments (P) mission is to identify, develop, and demonstrate forward looking concepts encompassing multi-domain technologies to satisfy Multi-Service and CombatantCommands (COCOMs) priorities for the Department of Defense. The focus areas include, but are not limited to, seeking to explore opportunities through the use of rigorous prototyping and experimentation, engaging the Interagency, International, and non-governmental partners to expand the Department of Defense's (DoD) access to innovation spawning from government, academia and industry, all essential for warfighting success, and providing engineering expertise to support OUSD(R) modernization priorities. The contractor shall provide technical and engineering support for OUSD(R) through PCome join a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) that is focused on providing a broad range of services that help make us "The Warfighter to Engineer Interface". Our services include Mission Engineering, System Engineering and DT in such development phases as: Planning, execution, and assessment of Developmental or Operational Test & Evaluation; Technology evaluation and prioritization; and Operational and System DoDAF View (OVs, SVs). Responsibilities Assess user and system requirements and recommend the best overall system architecture.Assist in the design the overall system. The contractor shall formulate system specifications in accordance with applicable standards and work with the site software engineering team to ensure that user requirements and specifications are met in the design of software systems.Design, code, install, and maintain systems. The contractor shall establish test requirements, plans, and execute testing to verify system design and performance; ensure system maintenance and maintain adequate software systems documentation.Prepare software system architectures and models to specify in detail operations to be performed by computer software. The contractor shall provide support for presentation, briefing, chart, and other office documentation.Continually assess the performance of software engineer teams, using an agile approach.Ability to develop software using current programming languages (eg Java, C++, JavaScript, PHP or other languages).Excellent knowledge of database technology (eg SQL, No SQL, etc.).Experience developing web applications using at least one popular web framework.Experience with test-driven development.Proficiency in software engineering tools.Experience in/familiarity with DevOps or DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines.Experience in/familiarity with cloud native applications and microservices. Qualifications Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or higher in a recognized engineering, scientific and or technical, discipline that is relevantTop Secret with SCIMinimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience. Knowledge or Project management Best Practices. Knowledge in Software Engineering.Desired QualificationsExperience interfacing with Joint Staff, Services, and warfighters to coordinate engineering and analysis needs and analytic results. Military or OSD experience.
