Job ID: 85579 Area of Interest: Clerical Location: Baltimore,MD USHours of Work: M-F Job Facility: University of Maryland Medical System Employment Type: Full Time Shift: DAYWhat You Will Do: Job Summary: The Compliance Coding Educator/Auditor will function as a resource and educator for UM SJMG providers, and staff in clinical departments, physician practices, and billing staff. Compliance Coding Educator/Auditor: Performs coding audits of employed providers consistent with UMSJMG policy and provider contracts. Develops education/training materials, coordinates and conducts training for providers and staff as it relates to documentation and coding. Provides education during the on boarding process of new providers and managers as it relates to Part A and Part B documentation and coding requirements. Creates and maintains all department training materials, tools and/or records. Reviews and communicates any pertinent CMS notifications to appropriate leadership and practice managers. Keeps abreast of Medicare/Medicaid and third party payers for credentialing requirements for mid-level providers. Facilitates the timely communication of updated billing and coding requirements to providers and staff. What You Need to Be Successful: Education: High School Diploma or GED (required). Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree preferred in Healthcare Management, Health Information Management, Nursing or other health related curriculum (preferred). Certification / Licensure / Registration: CCS or CPC is required. CPMA (Certified Professional Medical Auditor), or RHIT, or RHIA is required. Experience and Skills 3-5 years auditing and coding experience with 1-2 years' experience in medical auditing and educating. Must possess knowledge in Medicare and Medicaid billing rules and CMS Teaching Physician Rules. Must possess skills in: Microsoft Office Suite software, EPIC, Experience researching Medicare and Medicaid billing rules. We are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
