Registered Nurse Clinical Coordinator Labor and Delivery Postpartum NICU
Job Summary Responsible and accountable for the provision of quality patient care and customer services on a defined patient care unit on a 24-hour basis. Acts as a role model and coach in ensuring the team's commitment and success in improving patient outcomes. Leads, coaches, and develops staff while also providing direct patientcare. Successfully facilitates team integration and the transition to patient-centered care. Collaborates effectively with the Director of Patient Care Services and Vice President of Patient Care. Minimum Qualifications Education/Training: Valid RN license in the State of Maryland; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Experience: 2 years related clinical experience. License/Certification/Registration: Valid RN license in the State of Maryland. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Actively communicates new information and updates to staff. Actively participates on a multidisciplinary quality or service improvement team. Assists in developing departmental goals and initiatives and contributes to the achievement of those goals. Attends mandatory training sessions, staff meetings and town meetings and completes all mandatory education requirements on time. Counsels associates effectively and collaborates with the Nurse Manager in initiating disciplinary actions. Demonstrates leadership behavior and independent decision making. Demonstrates the ability to competently care for patients, serving as a role model for team collaboration and quality patient care. Interviews prospective associates and makes recommendations for hiring. Investigates occurrence reports and resolves incidents in a timely manner. Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Provides feedback on staff performance and the assessment of staff competencies for evaluations. Serves as a coach and mentor to staff.
