Actively seeks to build relationships and establish clienteleFollows opening and closing procedures/checklistsKnows the food and beverage menu, and is able to speak to the menu from memoryRings in orders into point of sale systemCollects payment for food and drinks served and accurately processes payment and/or makes change using prescribed cash handling proceduresMake suggestions and give guests optionsHandle POS system quickly and efficientlyAble to package all take out items correctly and efficientlyWhile packaging orders, double checks that all food is made and packaged properly and all items ordered are accounted forSpeak to guests to ensure satisfaction with food, drinks, and serviceAble to respond to guest complaintCards all guests that appear to be under the legal drinking age and refuses to serve alcohol to minorsUphold strict cash handling procedures and be accountable for all transactions dailyAble to prioritizeMaintain personal health and sanitation standardsReview work procedures and operational problems in order to determine ways to improve service, performance and safetyUnderstands and practices proper safe food and beverage handling procedures in accordance with local government standardsKnowledge/Skills +AbilitiesA minimum of 6 months' experience in high-volume, upscale casual dining or an equivalent service environment; previous server experience highly desirableAble to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day preferredAble to lift and carry up to 40 poundsAble to work calmly and effectively under pressureHigh school diploma (or equivalent) requiredAble to perform basic mathematical calculationsMust be of legal age to prepare, serve, and ring alcoholic beveragesAble to work flexible shifts and schedules, inclusive of weekends, and some holidaysCertified in (or able to be certified in) responsible alcohol service (as required by state or local law)High energy and stamina.
