Senior Digital Media Forensics Analyst Primary Location: Fort Meade, MD,US Must be a US citizen Security Clearance: TS/SCI **This position is contingent upon award** Job Summary The Digital Media Forensics Analyst will combine computer science with forensic skills to recover data and information from computers and storage devices that have been deleted, damaged, or otherwise manipulated. They support counterintelligence investigations by performing all phases of forensic examination of digital media, including on-site and off-site evidence acquisitions and seizures, forensic analysis, and reporting, ensuring maintenance of chain of custody and adherence to applicable rules of evidence. Key Accountabilities Research, design, deploy, and lead training events, evaluate emerging forensic technologies, provision operational security assessments, and support Cyber forensic and Cybersecurity tasks. Support incident response activities, intrusion events, and malware analysis. Provide insight on the best practices to protect computers from infiltration, recover any lost files, and determine how a computer were broken into. Create detailed notes on processes undertaken and develop intelligence-based reports. Provide testing and evaluation of emerging trends in digital forensics software and hardware and assist in developing new and innovative forensic processes and procedures. Perform all phases of the forensic examination of digital media, including on-site and off-site evidence acquisition/seizures, forensic analysis, and reporting, ensuring chain of custody is maintained and that applicable rules of evidence are adhered to. Provide support for incident response activities, intrusion events, and malware analysis. Knowledge and Skills Experience with current information, tools, and methodologies in the intelligence field. Experience with commercial forensic software suites to include: EnCase Forensic Toolkit (FTK) X Ways Forensics And forensic imaging techniques Must have knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Windows artifacts, and file systems. Must possess the ability to work in a team environment Experience and Education Must have a minimum of 2 years of host based forensic experience. Master's degree is desired, but experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree. Must have a minimum of 12 years of computer forensics experience with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years. Must be DoD Digital Forensic Examiner (DFE) certified. An additional certification in one of the following is highly desired: Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE) EnCase Certified Examiner Two (2) years of experience with mobile device forensics is strongly desired. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Normal office environment Travel Domestic travel may be required for training and program coordination. Travel is estimated to be up to 20%.
