The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with experience and interest in working in a small, entrepreneurial environment with broad responsibilities and opportunities.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Responsible for procurement activities of alliance partners and licensees including purchase order (PO) management, cost analysis, inventory and vendor management in accordance with Novavax operating policies and proceduresAssist supply chain and planning to analyze demand and usage of various materials including critical supplies, clinical materials, components and consumablesTrack licensee performance related to scope and terms of contractManage related information and documentation such as open purchase order listing, un-invoiced receipt amounts, supplier details, and statementsEnsure adherence to related requirements of the pharmaceutical industry, such as shelf life and stability per contractual agreementsNegotiation, conflict resolution and stakeholder management with key strategic suppliers and logistics service providersDevelop, track, and report data for the finance team on a monthly/biweekly basis and assist in quarterly true up reconciliations for planned versus actualsMonitor global transportation network in support of Novavax logistics teamIdentify related risks and develop mitigating strategic plansSupport the Finance and Commercial Alliance team with the financial planning & analysis activities for Novavax Inc., including the creation of annual budgets, forecasts, monthly and quarterly reportingPartner with the Commercial Alliance team to manage the project control processes, policies, and systems including, project budgeting, monitoring, reporting, and controlHelp develop and monitor critical success metrics, and communicate actionable insights to relevant stakeholders and SMEsProvide insightful and commercial input to business decisions, challenge key forecasting assumptions and deliver a financial analysis of key risks and sensitivitiesDesign and execute regular financial analysis to identify critical areas for attention and the evaluation of strategic optionWork to develop new internal dashboards and models and automate internal reportingCollaborate with the Accounting team on the monthly close process, financial reporting, and preparation of GAAP financial statementsUtilize understanding of budgets and forecasts to create high-quality variance and trend analysis on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basisProvide creative alternatives and recommendations to improve business and financial performanceDrive financial performance such as COGS development and Inventory optimization and associated business activity, to deliver and communicate performance and business planning reports, and to advise senior management of key financial and department's driversImprove pass through material forecasting process through better alignment with Procurement and analysis of capacity and planningMinimum requirements:Bachelor's or Master's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or other relevant discipline preferred.10 or more years work experience in supply chain, global logistics, procurement or other Supply Chain function, preferably in the pharma/biotech industry.SAP supply chain planning experience preferred.Experience managing projects for high-performing global teams.Strong leadership, collaboration and influencing skills, with demonstrated ability to problem solve and drive positive change.Dynamic, pragmatic, and passionate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work off hours to include nights/weekendsNovavax is headquartered in Gaithersburg, Maryland with additional facilities in Uppsala, Sweden and Bohumil, Czech Republic.
