This position location is flexible and you must be willing to travel to various CONUS locations, to include Columbus, OH. The expectations for this position are general management duties and oversight, program execution, strategy development, direct selling, and proposal leadership.JOB SUMMARYToday's National Security enterprise needs multi-functioning, reliable, rugged equipment that's designed for frontline performance and agility. This division delivers innovative, high-technology deployable equipment and sensors to operate in the world harshest environments for sensitive government clients. Also, the division executes an enterprise capability in maritime R utilizing special facilities and equipment. The Division Manager will serve as a leader in the organization and interact with principal investigators, program managers, project teams, other departments, teammates and customers to deliver on financial targets. The Division Manager also supports and implements short and long-term plans for growth and continued viability of the business.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESManages a staff of approximately ~75 scientist, engineers, technicians, and technical experts to support the core business. Establishes staff goals and appraises performance. Administers salaries, prepares staff development plans and approves timecards. Manages work loading of the assigned staff members.Manages technical quality, business ethics, and staff performance to attain high quality products and services through the selection, training, development and motivation of a capable staff.Ensures staff have necessary materials, equipment and facilities to perform work.Contributes to development and executes business strategies, policies, plans, and procedures.Supports the business development team by leading proposal and marketing activities.THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIREDB.S. Engineering degree from an accredited institution with at least 15 years of experience and 5+ years of system development and 5+ years of project management experience. Proven experience in leading business development and marketing programs worth $10+M annually that involve coordination across organization lines and technical disciplines.Knowledge of tools and methods for project management, especially cost, schedule and scope performance. Ability to assess and take requisite action to address project risks and change requests.Demonstrated excellence in building and supporting a team. Proven ability to lead others in the achievement of goals and create teams driven by initiative, innovation and vision.Must be organized and detail oriented. Must be capable of ensuring that a wide range of different activities (technical, financial, business development, and administrative) are done on time and at a high quality.Has a working knowledge of contractual issues relative to scope, terms, and conditions of the work and corresponding subcontracts/supply chain.Excellent oral and written communication skills.A customer service focus and history of successful client interactions.Must be willing to travel up to 20% as required.
