A cancer diagnosis is something no one wants to hear. Too often, cancer is detected late, once it has spread and treatment options are limited. But cancer can be more effectively treated with an intent to cure if caught in the earlier stages. This is How We Thrive.The RoleWe are seeking excellent Laboratory Specialists for our growing Operations team in a cutting-edge clinical molecular diagnostics laboratory. Successful candidates will work closely with Laboratory Operations management to schedule and perform a variety of molecular biology and next-generation sequencing procedures. Lab Specialists will have a keen eye for process improvement and troubleshooting while following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). They will also collaborate with other scientists and management to perform clinical laboratory testing meeting excellent quality standards.ResponsibilitiesPerform testing of laboratory developed tests and IVD kits according to established SOPs including Whole blood separation, DNA isolation & quantification, NGS sample prep and sequencing, and immunoassaysResponsible to follow the clinical laboratories' procedures for handling and processing of specimens and proficiency testing materialsEnsure testing meets cost, turnaround time, quality and other critical product performance metrics required to deliver the best results and experience to our customersPerforms routine maintenance, calibrations and troubleshooting on equipment, in addition to quality control testing for select reagentsFlexibility to cover testing personnel scheduling gaps as neededMaintain records of quality control, maintenance and relevant testing data for assigned workstations according to Thrive's laboratory and document control policiesQualificationsMaster's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant chemical, physical, or biological field from an accredited college or university4 years of relevant wet lab experience - preferably in a regulated laboratory - performing molecular biology or related proceduresWorking knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and other relevant Federal and State regulatory agency standards such as CLIAKnowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures and practices including standard precautions and hazardous chemical handlingProficiency with basic laboratory calculations, such as dilutions and weightsComfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic team environmentExcellent oral and written communication skills, and critical problem-solving abilitiesStrong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and adapt rapidly to changing priorities and tasksThrive Earlier Detection is an equal opportunity employer and will not discriminate against any employee or applicant on the basis of age, color, disability, gender, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any classification protected by federal, state, or local law.TO ALL AGENCIES:Please, no phone calls or emails to any employee of Thrive about our openings.
