Job DetailsJob LocationWoodlawn, Maryland - Gwynn Oak, MDPosition TypeFull TimeEducation Level4 Year DegreeJob ShiftNormal Business HoursJob CategoryInformation TechnologyDescriptionWhat will you be doing?:Provide setup and support of Windows file, print and database servers including setup and administration of file shares and manage, support and troubleshoot file and folder permissions.Work daily to ensure systems run efficiently and continue to operate without downtime or performance degradation.Maintain software and security updates, monitor server activity and ensure availability of client/server applications, auditing server security, developing and refining processes for the ongoing management of the server and data center environment, and designing and installing new server implementations as needed.Provide application development support by maintaining, supporting and troubleshooting web servers, managing access to network resources and databases including SQL, IIS and SharePoint servers.Participate in evaluating existing systems and processes to identify improvements and updates that keep servers running in optimal conditions. Plan, implement, oversee and maintain server and network infrastructures and projects.Develop and implement project plans, risk assessments and contingency plans.Provide server documentation and how-to instructional guides as necessary.Define and document best practices and support procedures.Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly scheduled network backups; restore data as required to support systems and data recovery due to hardware, software, or user error; verify and validate the integrity of the backups; and perform recovery test or drills periodically.Maintain and monitor system resource utilization, such as disk configuration, memory, and central processing unit (CPU) on servers. Recommend changes. Notify the Government immediately of any problems that occur during daily maintenance of servers. Examples are problems accomplishing backups, disk-space utilization, and excessive CPU utilization.Mentor / cross train team members on existing and new technologies.Carry out special IT projects at management's direction.Interact with customers and staff at the technical level.Support vulnerability assessments in accordance with Office of Information Security directives.Review and store the systems, security, and application event logs from servers. Monitor server performance and ensure all application services are running; maintain and backup all appropriate databases.Maintain databases resident on LAN servers and design, structure, and maintain additional databases as required supporting new applications. Database types including, but not limited to, SQL, IIS and SharePoint servers.Administer user access and permissions to databases residing on organizational servers. In addition, every employee is provided with a stipend to invest in certifications, a master's degree, or even a doctorate.We work hard, we play hard -Nationals Games, Happy Hours, Holiday events, philanthropic endeavors, etc at ITC we enjoy working together but also take time to connect with each other and our community through various events and activities.QualificationsRequired:Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering or related discipline and 10+ years of relevant work experienceFour-year degree in MIS, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.Senior Database Engineer (Technical Staff Level IV) needed for the position of SENIOR SERVER ADMINISTRATOR: Ten or more years of hands on experience requiredExperience including, but not limited to, the following:Supporting complex windows server environments, server applications and/or network managementAdministering Microsoft enterprise solutions including Active Directory, Windows Server, SQL and IIS Server, and SharePoint Working with Microsoft Exchange Server and administering email accountsSupporting Windows file, print and database servers including setup and administration of file sharesVMWare virtual servers and VMWare virtual vSphere web ClientFamiliarity with modern IT security practices required.Certification as a MCSE or MCSA with relevant experience a plus.Ability to document changes made to network systems and provide an audit trail of such activities.Windows server administration.Infrastructure monitoring and management tools.Ability to develop IT technology strategy for a server environment.Experience with virtualization technologies.Excellent customer service skills.Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.Clearance requirements:Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.A current SSA Public Trust clearance is highly preferred.This position is contingent upon budget, and/or customer approval.IT Concepts is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer.
