Carter MachineryLocation: Manassas | VA | 20109 | USACategory: SalesRequisition_Number: ENGIN01074Schedule: Full TimeDescriptionCarter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington DC is hiring an Engine Sales Representative in Manassas, Virginia. This position is responsible for maximizing the profitable sale or rental of engines and ancillary equipment. Seeking candidates with a minimum of three year's sales experience and a proven track record of sales success. Experience with construction equipment, building materials, durable goods, heavy machinery, trucks, technical products, or other mechanical products and/or other high ticket products preferred.Responsibilities Include:Meeting or exceeding sales and the projected market plan.Prompt, accurate and complete reporting of sales, leases and credit applications.Servicing existing customers with ongoing visits, and effectively prospecting and closing potential new customers.On-site inspections of equipment; ensure any issues are promptly reported to the appropriate department.Preparation of an Annual Marketing Plan to the Sales Manager.Collection of any past due accounts.Requirements:Self-starter able to work with limited supervision; capable of working independently, developing objectives, setting priorities, and implementing ideas in a timely manner.High mechanical aptitude required; able to maintain up to date knowledge of Caterpillar engine and generator lines.Excellent customer satisfaction skills and the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.Must be innovative and creative to handle challenging situations.Must be a good listener with excellent written and verbal communication/negotiation skills.Strong PC skills with the ability to self-develop and adapt to changing technology.Maintain good communication and working relationships with Project Managers.Must have a clean driving record, and be capable of towing and operating equipment for demonstration purposes.Able to quickly evaluate facts, work under pressure, and maintain good judgment when making decisions.Willing to travel and work hours required by the job and customer demand.Must meet physical requirements for the job, including the ability to lift and carry items up to 20 pounds. This position requires the ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time, with frequent walking. Repeated stooping, kneeling, bending and climbing beside, onto and under a variety of heavy equipment. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
