ResponsibilitiesThe Quality Control Manager supports a large infrastructure construction and modernization project. He/she works under the general supervision of the project management team. The Quality Control Manager is responsible: To develop and implement quality control plans. To serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a variety of trades, to include: Mechanical and Plumbing, Electrical, Fire Protection, HVAC, HVAC Controls, Elevators, Site and Earthwork, Concrete and Masonry and other tipical construction and building components. To observeand and ensure the general contractor conducts its quality control operations to produce work in conformance with plans and specifications. To prepare, distribute and maintain contemporaneous daily reports summarizing findings. To advise the government on the contractor's use of the three-phase approach to quality operations (plan, do, check). To review contractor quality control plans, reports and test results for completeness and accuracy. Work hours may be outside of standard work hours of 8-5. Extended work hours are not anticipated, but maybe required depending on project requirements. Flexible work arrangements will be considered based on project needs and client's approval.- To bring any diffeciencies to the attention of the general contracotr through the Project Manager, Contracting Officer Representative and/or the Contracting Officer. To reveiw materials used by the construction contractors to ensure compliance with contract documents including plans and specifications. Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field. Eight (8) years of experience in general construction of civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing projects. Must have working knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures and practices. Knowledge of the principles and practices applied in the design, construction and maintenance of facilities. Knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems associated with facilities. Knowledge of specifications and building codes used in large commercial, industrial and public works construction projects. Knowledge of design, planning, engineering, architectural, and contractual requirements in large commercial, industrial and public works construction projects. Proficiency in MS Project, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word and project management software. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing. Preferred: Preferred OSHA 30 Hours or OSHA 40 Hours or equivalent Preferred certifications: USACE QCM or NAVFAC QCM or equivalent Clearance: Active Top Secret Additional RequirementsThe successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.
