Responsibilities: Liaises with a wide array of regional and functional bureaus within the Department and the interagency on a routine basis to effectively communicate and advance the policy of the Special Presidential Envoy In coordination with the relevant regional and functional bureaus, advise the Office Director and Deputy Director on special projects in his area of responsibility. Coordinate US diplomatic engagement with Coalition partners to promote global and regional efforts to defeat ISIS. Coordinate with Department, interagency and Coalition partners to improve operational effectiveness of the Coalition, enhance Coalition interactions and reinforce Coalition unity. Support bilateral and multilateral engagements involving members of the Coalition with the Secretary, S/SECI, and other Department principals. Participates in interagency meetings as they relate to the areas of responsibility and help prepare leadership for various local and international meetings, speeches and presentations. Conduct outreach to manage relationships with Defeat ISIS Coalition members, international organizations, and NGOs to channel Coalition stabilization assistance in support of the Defeat ISIS campaign. Researches, prepares, and reviews policy papers and BCLs on key topics across multiple regional issue sets and across lines of effort. Support other projects as directed, including high-level USG visits. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 5+years of experience preferred State Department policy experience preferred but policy for another federal agency could qualify Able to be available for at least 30% overseas travel Able to brief and work effectively with high-ranking officials of the Department, other government agencies, and foreign governments. Have a strong understanding of the paper process at the State Department, be able to write and speak well, and be knowledgeable about other State Department procedures, such as travel planning and execution. He/she must be fully aware of the policies and viewpoints of the SECI office as they relate to current foreign policy situations and projected Bureau program activities.
