Catalyst Professional Services, Inc is hiring a Physician Assistant to provide services at Malcom Grow Medical Clinic & Surgery Center located on Joint Base Andrews in Andrews AFB, MD. The Physician Assistant will support the Family Health Unit as well as provide service for the Integrated Disability Evaluation System This is a full time position working Monday through Friday 6:30 am to 6:30 pm for 12 hour shifts OR 7:30 am to 4:00 PM for 8 hours shifts. Duties: Provides primary medical care with the cognizance or supervision of a physician. Provides services by collecting data required for diagnosis and performing procedures and services. Obtains and evaluates medical histories, performs physical examinations, performs therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, and orders laboratory studies, radiographs, electrocardiograms, and other special examinations. Collects specimens for pathologic examination. Analyzes and interprets data, formulates problem lists, and establishes plans for solution of clinical problems. Counsel's patients on medical problems, use of drugs, expected effects of treatment, family planning, diet, and other therapeutic health maintenance matters. Review medical records and evaluate patients for PCS and deployment waivers for cohort of patients as directed by the Chief of Aerospace Medicine and/or Chief of Medical Staff. Write medical narrative summaries and coordinate processing of disability packages with Medical Standards and Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officers. Write PCS and deployment waivers and coordinate processing with Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officers. Identify unfitting medical problem and facilitate work-up including specialty consultations as required and as directed by the Chief of Aerospace Medicine and/or Chief of Medical Staff. Establish rapport with primary care providers at multiple referring medical treatment facilities and work collaboratively to establish definitive diagnosis, treatment plans. Understand and education patients on the Integrated Disability Evaluation System. Qualifications: Degree/Education: Be a graduate Physician Assistant of an institution accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC- PA), or its predecessors, and acceptable to the Surgeon General, USA. Must be qualified by academic and practical education to provide patient services as a physician extender under supervision of a physician. Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: In addition to Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS), Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Committee on Certification Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required. Experience: Have at least 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant within the last 3 years. Licensure/Registration: Possess a current, valid and unrestricted license to practice as a DC in any one of the fifty States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the US Virgin Islands.
