Summary
  • The Cloud Cybersecurity Engineer works with engineers and customer to ensure Information Assurance documentation and procedures stays updated and complete during redesign of enterprise networks. The Cloud Cybersecurity Engineer will be a member of a team that will plan, engineer, and implement the reconfiguration of enterprise networks in accordance with DISA and other federal agency standards.

Responsibilities
  • Take a lead role in implementation a cloud and network security solution that meets standards, guidelines and regulatory compliance requirements related to information security and cloud computing such as ISO 27001, Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), NIST 800-53, SOC2 etc.
  • Develop and prepare the required security control documents or artifacts, and conduct security control assessments, and security test and evaluation required by the respective network authorities and C&A processes such as the Risk Management Framework (RMF).

  • Prepare and document the risk mitigations and maintain and update the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) as required by the network domain Authorizing Official (AO).
  • Perform compliance reviews of computer security plans, performs risk assessments, and validates and performs security test evaluations and audits.
  • Participate in technical assessments and reviews to validate the technical approach and associated work products and implementations.Assist systems engineering as they conduct requirements analysis, design, development, performance measurement, verification and validation, certification and accreditation, deployment, change management, and transition.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Additional experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
  • Additional education or relevant higher-level certifications may be used in lieu of experience.
  • 5+ years' experience with SaaS, PaaS or other cloud-based security frameworks.
  • Experience designing, developing and implementing and securing cloud environments
  • Experience consulting on and architecting the implementation of a wide range of innovative cloud security use cases
  • Technical experience with one or more cloud-based application platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure
  • Possess and maintain a valid state operator's license.
  • Possess Baseline and Full Computing Environment Certifications for IAM-II IAW DoD 8570.01-M. (CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, CCISO)
  • Possesses an active Secret Clearance

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of DoD Cybersecurity policies, tools, and techniques.
  • Understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
  • Understanding of Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) or XACTA.
  • Ability to validate risk assessments and develop Plans of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) to assist the PM and ISOs in the mitigation of cybersecurity weaknesses, providing solutions and mitigation actions for each assessed item.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision or guidance.
  • Ability to occasionally work after hours and/or on-call support.
