Overall accountabilities are defined in this section.The Material Handler will use material handling equipment and the warehouse management system to build pallets of product for shipment, receive product into the warehouse, put away product in the fill locations and replenish product into slots.NIGHT SHIFT POSITIONWEEKENDS REQUIREDStarts at $17.80 plus shift differentialAsk about our $1000 retention bonus!Core ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities and tasks are written as follows: Safely and efficiently utilize warehouse material handling equipmentUtilize RF units and pick tickets, and receiving documentationBuild stable, well-built and accurate pallet loads for shipmentEnsure item pick accuracy and safety of product to prevent damageUnderstand pallet layers, heights, and counting methods used when working with pallets of productRead and understand product descriptions, packaging and pick ticket messagesConsistently meet established company production and service level standardsUtilize good housekeeping processesUtilize effective food safety measuresUtilize warehouse processes to minimize damage and other areas of wasteInform supervisor of any differences in case quantity and/or product descriptionWrap the pallet by circling load with roll of plastic wrap until secureHousekeeping during and at the end of shiftsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. High school diploma or or general education degree (GED) required. A minimum of 12 full months of documented experience as a certified fork lift/heavy lift driver will be accepted in lieu of a High School Diploma or GED.Previous experience in a warehouse or with heavy lifting preferredAbility to lift up to 60 pounds continually during shiftAbility to consistently meet minimum production standards and company service levelsMust obtain proper powered industrial truck certifications during initial training phaseAbility to understand and follow both written and verbal instructionsAbility to operate pallet jack and other required materials handling equipment (MHE)Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.Work Environment & Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those an employee should possess to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
