Job Description

The Washington Post's Emerging News Products team has an opening for a six-month contract designer, beginning May 1, to work on our award-winning Stories team, a group dedicated to reimagining The Post's most timely, topical and engaging journalism on Instagram and Snapchat . 

This role requires a well-rounded visual journalist with expertise in Photoshop and Adobe After Effects. Top applicants are skilled in motion design, typography and conceptual illustration, with a strong understanding of social media. It is essential that this person be a team player who is excited about working in a highly collaborative environment. It helps to have a spirit of adventure, as we'll be experimenting with new approaches on developing platforms. Prior experience in a fast-paced newsroom is desired.

This position is based in our Washington newsroom. Once we resume normal operations, it will not be eligible for remote work.
