Summary

The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is the local commuting area with the surrounding area of Fort Lee, VA and Prince George County VA. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)

This position is located at the Golf Course.

There will be biweekly cutoffs, any eligible applicants will be referred to management at that time until the position(s) is filled.

Responsibilities

  • Perform heavy physical labor requiring the frequent lifting and carrying of items and furniture weighing 80 to 100 pounds or more. May perform alone or as a member of a work group.
  • Operate heavy powered equipment performing tasks that require prior work experience and training using high pressure sprayers, operating tillers to prepare lawns for sod and bedding plants, and cutting trees using axes or chain saws.
  • Performs general maintenance of NAF facilities requiring use of heavy powered equipment and heavy tools.
  • Advises facility director of potential safety hazards and identifies repairs required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Occasional travel - Travel is less than 5% for possible training.

Conditions of Employment

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • A complete health screening is required.
  • This position may include nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • This position is a FLEX position. FLEX positions can be worked anywhere between 0 - 40 hours per week. Hours are not guaranteed.
