Summary

The Office of International Affairs (OIA) promotes the SEC's mission by advancing international regulatory and enforcement cooperation, promoting the adoption of high regulatory standards worldwide, and formulating technical assistance programs to strengthen the regulatory infrastructure in global financial markets.

If selected, you will serve as a project manager on various initiatives and be responsible for large, complex, and highly visible SEC programs

Responsibilities

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Plan large events, confirm logistics, collect information and support the overall objective of well-planned internal and external events including invitations, registrations, screening and clearance, facilities, audio visual and IT, publishing, acquisitions/contracting, refreshments, corresponding with senior level speakers and foreign government officials, and event-day troubleshooting.
  • Similar to above, but for virtual programs and events hosted via WebEx, but also other major applications, such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Blue Jeans.
  • System development, administration, and support for SalesForce and SharePoint applications, including matter intake, assignment, and tracking; populate data and maintain current databases; perform system reconfigurations and redesigns, as needed; and devise, implement, and run reports for various OIA systems.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support for programs and operations in performing technical, operational, and/or administrative working, including matters pertaining to budget, acquisitions/contracts, logistics, facilities, records management, and systems data management.
  • Provide door-to-door service for visits by foreign delegations and officials, including preparation of agendas, security/visitor registration, and escort of members to/from meetings.
  • Serve as a project manager on various program initiatives, using applicable tools and techniques to assess and improve business processes (e.g., mapping workflows and streamlining processes to reduce redundancies and improve efficiencies.)

  • DRUG TESTING: This position may be subjected to drug testing requirements.
  • PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION (PCS): Moving/Relocation expenses are not authorized.
  • DIRECT DEPOSIT: All Federal employees are required to have Federal salary payments made by direct deposit to a financial institution of their choosing.
  • This position is in the collective bargaining unit.
  • Due to COVID-19, the SEC is currently in a mandatory telework posture through June 25, 2021. If selected, you will be permitted to temporarily telework from a location outside the local commuting area.
  • Once employees are permitted to return to the office, you will be expected to report to the duty station listed on this announcement within 60 days. At that time, you will be eligible to request telework in accordance with the SEC 's telework policy.


Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:
SK-12: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-11 level. Specialized Experience Includes at least TWO of the following:

(1) Planning, promoting, and leading large events or conferences to advance organizational programs and initiatives:
(2) Developing policies and procedures pertinent to the administrative functions of the organization;
(3) Providing advice, guidance, and support for programs and operations in performing technical, operational, and/or administrative work, including matters pertaining to budget, procurement/contracts, logistics, facilities, records management, and systems data management.

Highly Desirable: Six Sigma and/or PMP certification, COR Level I or II
