Senior Virtualization and Storage Engineer

Summary

The Senior Virtualization and Storage Engineer has an in-depth knowledge of network virtualization and storage systems, and how to incorporate the technologies within enterprise networks. The Senior Virtualization and Storage Engineer will be a member of a team that will plan, engineer, and implement the reconfiguration of existing enterprise networks in accordance with DISA and other federal agency standards.

Responsibilities

Examine existing in-use virtualized environments and provide an analysis, and detailed plan on how to posture the systems for migration to a larger enterprise network.
Configure and deploy new storage builds utilizing ESXi, NetApp, and other virtualization solutions, as needed.
Work with customer to determine future use and growth of virtualized solutions.
Design step-by-step guides for migrating virtualized environment to new enterprise network.
Ensure compliance of storage with appropriate STIGs.
Properly document changes made to virtualized environment.
Create detailed backup solutions for systems prior to migration to new network.
Assist with the development of After-Action Reports, Monthly Status Reports, Lessons Learned, and TCP/IP network conversions.
Assist with the technical Re-addressing of the TCP/IP Network.
Track, fix, and address security flaws as directed by the COR.

Qualifications

BA/BS required, additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree acceptable
5+ years of virtualization or related experience required
Extensive experience designing, developing and implementing virtualized infrastructures
Full Computing Environment Certifications for IAT-II IAW DoD 8570.01-M (CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP)
Additional experience with enterprise level domain services a plus
Must have an active secret clearance

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Possess senior level knowledge of Storage Area Networks.
Have strong knowledge of virtualization utilizing VMWare ESXi 5.5, 6.0, and 6.5.
Experience with NetApp filers running both 7-mode and Clustered Data ONTAP.
Possess experience with NetApp Snapshot-based backup and replication technologies.
Possess strong knowledge of storage related protocols: CIFS, NFS, FCP, iSCSI.
