Overview

If this is you, we invite you to apply to one of our temporary City of Alexandria POD (Point of Distribution) vaccination site opportunities. One of which is the Registration Staff who work to v erify whether clients have appointments and have successfully registered online for the POD, assist individuals who have not completed registration , and re-direct clients without appointments .

The Opportunity - Examples of Duties

  • Participate in daily briefings to stay current on POD procedures
  • Confirm clients have an appointment by checking their name against a list.
  • Give appropriate information and direction to clients who do not have appointments


  • Use a tablet to check that clients have successfully completed the online registration process .
  • Assist clients who were unable to complete the online registration
  • Identify clients who need physical or communication assistance and connect them with the appropriate support
  • Direct client to the vaccination area .
  • Must wear a surgical mask and eye protection ( faceshield or goggles)


The Ideal Candidate

In order to minimally qualify for this position all applicants must possess h igh s chool d iploma or GED; three years of responsible clerical experience, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

In order to be considered an ideal candidate all applicants must possess the above as well as: b asic ability and comfort with operating a touchscreen tablet ; b asic ability to assist clients with completing registration form on client’s phone ; a bility to follow protocols, and flexibility to adapt to ongoing changes in procedures and job tasks ; a bility to work inside, sitting down or standing; or outside for an entire POD, standing for up to 4 hours at a time ; ability to hear well in a noisy environment and has good listening skills ; have a s trong, clear voice ; be f lexible and functions well under stressful, pressured situations ; ability to problem-solve independently but appropriately inform supervisor if issues ; have s trong verbal communication skills, comfortable interacting one-on-one with the public, able to have difficult conversations and de-escalate distressed clients.

Notes

*Please note this is a 90 day temporary position with the possibility of an extension.

Schedule:

Hours: Typically 7:30AM-5:30PM.?Work is in-person, days?are?variable, ?and will include weekends. Total hours per week may range from 10-40 hours. Preference given to individuals willing to work multiple shifts per week and up to 40 hours. Must be flexible with work schedule,?as hours and days are subject to change depending on vaccine availability.

Training:

Will receive training in Incident Command Structure (ICS) and following chain of command, Biosafety and correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), online registration system, and POD (Point of Dispensing) structure and procedures
