Position Overview:
As a key member of the Capital Markets Compliance (CMC) second line of defense (2LOD) Trust Oversight team, your primary responsibilities will be overseeing the effectiveness of Freddie Mac's first line of defense's risk identification, risk assessment, and risk mitigation activities relating to Master Trust Agreement (MTA) and trustee programs.

The team performs risk assessments, monitoring and independent compliance testing of MTA and trustee programs, and securities and derivatives compliance, across the Single Family, Multifamily and Investments & Capital Markets divisions. This individual will assist in the assessment, monitoring, testing and reporting activities that the team performs in its comprehensive oversight of MTA and trustee programs and functions. **This position can be performed currently from a remote location in the U.S. but will require presence in a Freddie Mac office in the future.**
Our Impact:
This role is part of the Compliance Department, in the Enterprise Risk Management Division of Freddie Mac. Compliance serves as the second line of defense, with oversight to Legal and Compliance risk in our company's core business functions. The Trust Oversight team within CMC seeks to ensure the firm's compliance with capital markets-related laws and regulations and MTA/trustee program contractual obligations, by performing oversight activities such as risk assessment, monitoring and MTA compliance testing.
Your Impact:Analysis and Assessment
  • Execution of the Compliance risk program and Enterprise Operational Risk Policy
  • Support of Subject Matter Experts performing compliance risk assessments on securities and derivatives and MTA compliance risks of business areas within the SF, MF and I&CM divisions
  • Execution and documentation of monitoring and testing activities, and communication of results in reports
Risk Management and Reporting
  • Own and maintain tools for documenting compliance monitoring and testing activities
  • Support update of obligations in Compliance's obligations library
  • Support the department's compliance with corporate obligations such as privacy standards and records management requirements
  • Track and manage open inquiries, issues and remediation activities
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5-7+ years of directly-related experience in a risk management and/or compliance role
  • Experience with conducting and documenting testing and/or auditing activities
  • Experience writing policies and procedures
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience using Excel, Word and SharePoint
  • Knowledge of mortgage industry and securitization
