Job Description

The Washington Post production facility is seeking a strong highly motivated Nurse Manager for our Occupational Health Center. Our health center provides health and safety guidance to over 400 employees that work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The health center is responsible for monitoring work conditions and resolving any safety issue while ensuring that the company complies and adheres to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines to reduce work-related injuries. Manufacturing / Production Environment

Requirements include:
  • Demonstrates leadership ability and commitment to TWP values and goals
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Virginia RN License required
  • Three years' experience in occupational health, emergency room nursing or ICU
  • Two years' experience in a lead role (e.g., charge nurse or management) preferred
  • CPR/AED Certification
  • Knowledge of Worker's Compensation laws preferred
  • Certification as an occupational hearing conservationist is desired
  • Ability to work well independently and use good judgement with a group under pressure
  • Able to build and inspire a productive and cohesive team where everyone feels included
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relations with outside vendors

Responsibilities include:
  • Delivering comprehensive nursing care
  • Conduct job placement health screenings
  • Work to minimize employee absenteeism through return to work assessments/fitness for duty evaluations and case management
  • Promoting and supporting health and safety initiatives
  • Effectively conducting site health and safety needs analysis
  • Developing, implementing and evaluating key health and safety programs
  • Administer training in all OSHA required areas
  • Respond to onsite medical emergencies
  • Consult on and coordinates advanced onsite medical care as needed
  • Ensures that the Health Center functions are consistent with TWP policies
  • Delivers new hire safety orientation
  • Assumes responsibility for all Health Center administrative functions (which include but not limited to)
    • Maintaining metrics
    • Scheduling
    • Supply orders
    • Employee record management
    • Ergonomic Assessments
    • Workers Compensation
  • Other duties as assigned
