Integrated Communications and Marketing (ICM) is a multimedia, service-focused communications and marketing operation that leads in shaping the impression of AARP by providing communications planning, marketing, support and execution for AARP's strategic business units.
Summary

The Publications Creative Team Designer will provide production and design support for digital only entities: The Girlfriend and Sisters Letter.
Responsibilities
  • Art concepting, producing and rendering production for digital only entities (The Girlfriend and Sisters Letter) and other AARP digital entities as needed. Will be responsible executing the design and vision of the publications as established by the Senior Design staff, including quickly adapting to changes in design direction.
  • Assisting with design for the newsletters web, marketing and social media accounts (including flowing copy, attaching high-res art, imputing corrections, building interactivity), assisting in production of repurposed content.
  • Potentially responsible for imputing illustrator contracts and uploading imagery to appropriate platforms and assisting with design awards entries.
  • Ability to act as a back up to the senior production staff ensuring it publishes on time with all required approvals necessary.
Requirements
  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position.
  • In-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Must have a design and marketing background along with a familiarity with CMS, spreadsheet platforms and workflow integration apps.
  • Must have the ability to take direction from senior design and production staffers. This position requires excellent project management and communication skills as well as digital production skills. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with art and editorial staff.
  • Must have the ability to quickly adapting to changes in design direction.
  • Cultural competency and knowledge of African American personalities, talent and history.
  • Illustration and animation skills are preferred but not mandatory
