Hood College invites applications for a full-time Studio Arts Studio Manager

Responsibilities and Duties (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Assists undergraduate and graduate students, adjunct and full-time faculty with day-to-day departmental operations,
  • Provides for a safe and well-equipped environment in all instructional areas of the studio arts programs,
  • Responsible for overseeing and maintaining the studio spaces and facilities used by the Studio Arts programs including the BA Studio Art concentration, the BA Art Education concentration, the BA Art Therapy concentration, the minors in Studio Art and Graphic Design, and the Graduate programs in Ceramic Arts,
  • Facilitates and promotes the educational and safety needs of faculty, students and the general public in connection with the studio art offerings of the college,
  • Maintains a financial record of income and expenses within the departmental budget,
  • Includes administrative tasks associated with managing the studio arts spaces and supplies,
  • Provides various forms of administrative support for departmental programs,

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in studio arts or related field required,
  • Minimum of two years of art studio management experience in college/instructional environments or equivalent combination of education and experience required,
  • Thorough understanding of best studio arts practices across various media and current safety standards and requirements is necessary.
