Well established Real Estate Investment Firm is seeking a solid Paralegal or Jr. Attorney to join their team in an administrative capacity. the ideal candidate should have some experience working in either Commercial or Residential Real Estate as well as an interest in developing a career in that field. While largely administrative in nature, the ideal candidate is someone that this firm can mold into a career employee and hopefully work with moving forward.
  • Produces basic lease and lease-related documents, including licenses, new leases, amendments (and other form-based documents).
  • Prepares and revises lease amendments and other ancillary documents under supervision of attorney. Prepares, negotiates and revises subsequent iterations of leases under direction by attorneys.
  • Proofreads and reviews drafts of leases, lease amendments and ancillary documents.
  • Prepares/drafts correspondence, ranging from transmittal letters to legal letters based on models/templates used in the Legal Department.
  • Prepares correspondence (including basic default notices).
  • Assists the legal team in finalizing and formatting documents for execution.
  • Prepares lease abstracts for lease documents that are drafted in-house.

Job Requirements

  • Four (4) or more years' experience in a law or real estate development firm.
  • Experience in handling various aspects of retail real estate transactions (i.e., leasing, property management, acquisition, financing)
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
  • Training and/or certificate in Paralegal Studies beneficial.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office) particularly MS Word and Adobe Acrobat Professional as well as MS Outlook.
  • Experience in VTS and SharePoint a plus.
