Temporary COVID POD Logistics Supervisor

Overview

One of which is the Logistics Supervisor who s upports the COVID-19 vaccination efforts b y ensuring vaccination site supply and equipment needs are met through supply and re-supply of relevant materials for POD (Point of Distribution) vaccination events .

The Opportunity - Examples of Duties

  • Participate in the daily start-of-shift briefings to stay current with vaccination information and procedures
  • Provide training and supervision to unit members.
  • Oversee the preparation and re-supply of supplies and equipment for vaccination events
  • Monitor levels of various supplies and work with Logistics Section Chief to re-order when needed
  • Work with Logistics Section Chief and Operations Section Chief for receiving and managing supply requests.


  • Work with POD Managers to determine additional needs (staffing, supplies, etc ) at POD sites.
  • Inventory unused PPE and supplies at the end of PODs to determine use rates and future needs.
  • Routinely update inventory system tracker.


The Ideal Candidate

To be minimally qualified for this position all applicants must possess a h igh school diploma or GED; 3 years of supervisory experience; and a valid driver’s license issued by state of residence.

To be considered an ideal candidate, applicants must possess the above as well as : a ttention to detail ; a bility to multi-tas k; is flexible and functions well under stressful, pressured situations ; a bility to anticipate future needs of staff he/she is supporting and take initiative to address those needs ; e xcellent communication skills with colleagues, high level customer service skills with the public and community organizations ; ability to walk and stand for long periods of time and lift and move boxes up to 50lb s; and be willing and able to drive a City vehicle for delivery of POD supplies . Medical Reserve Corps experience is preferred.

Notes
*Please note that this is a 90 day temporary position with the possibility of an extension.

Schedule:

Hours: Typically 7:30AM-5:30PM. Days variable and will include weekend days . Total hours per week may range from 10-40 hours. Preference given to individuals willing to work multiple shifts per week and up to 40 hours. Must be flexible with work schedule, as hours and days are subject to change depending on vaccine availability. T his individual may be scheduled to work during POD vaccination events as well as on non-POD days to assist with POD preparation.

Training:

Will receive training in Incident Command Structure (ICS) and following chain of command, Biosafety and correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), inventory tracking procedures, and POD (Point of Dispensing) structure and procedures .
