Overview

One of which is the Logistics Staff who s upports the COVID-19 POD (Point of Distribution) vaccination e vents through the supply and re-supply with equipment and other relevant materi als .

The Opportunity - Examples of Duties

  • Participate in the daily start-of-shift briefings to stay current on conditions specific to that day and ongoing procedures.


  • Ensure necessary materials are available for vaccination events ( issuing supplies to the POD site teams, repositioning equipment and supplies, replenishing supplies )
  • Monitor levels of various supplies and notify supervisor when a re-order is needed
  • Travel to the Alexandria Health Department or to AHD’s storage area when needed to retrieve, organize, or prepare supplies.
  • Routinely update inventory system tracker.


The Ideal Candidate

To be minimally qualified for this position all applicants must have c omplet ed some high school courses; and must have a valid driver’s license issued by state of residence.

To be considered an ideal candidate, applicants must possess the above as well as: a ttention to detail ; a bility to multi-task ; be flexible and function well under stressful, pressured situations ; a bility to anticipate future needs of staff he/she is supporting and take initiative to address those needs ; e xcellent communication skills with colleagues, high level customer service skills with the public and community organizations ; a bility to walk and stand for long periods of time and lift and move boxes , equipment , and supplies up to 50lbs ; and be willing and able to drive a City vehicle for delivery of POD supplies . Medical Reserve Corps experience is preferred.

Notes
*Please note that this is a 60 day temporary position with the possibility of an extension.

Schedule:

Hours: Typically 7:30AM-5:30PM. Work is in-person, d ays are variable , and will include weekends. Total hours per week may range from 10-40 hours. Preference given to individuals willing to work multiple shifts per week and up to 40 hours. Must be flexible with work schedule, as h ours and days are subject to change depending on vaccine availability.

Training:

Will receive training in Incident Command Structure (ICS) and following chain of command, Biosafety and correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), inventory tracking procedures, and POD (Point of Dispensing) structure and procedures
