Overview

If this is you, we invite you to apply to one of our temporary City of Alexandria Vaccination site opportunities. One of which is the Flow Staff whose purpose is to f acil itate steady , efficient, and safe travel of clients throughout the site in a friendly manner which provides an organized and pleasant experience for the public during POD (Point of Distribution) vaccination events .

The Opportunity - Examples of Duties

  • Participate in the daily start-of-shift briefing s to stay current on conditions specific to that day and ongoing procedures .


  • Work with logistics to ensure all supplies needed for the shift are available
  • Ensure signage , 6- foot distance markers, and other directional cues are clear and visible.
  • Direct clients through the POD in a clear and friendly manner
  • Outdoor role task may include: directing traffic, directing pedestrians, handing out onsite registration instruction sheets to patients
  • Indoor tasks may include: doing symptom and temperature screening, directing patients to registration and to the vaccination stations, providing information sheets


  • A lert the clinical staff to any patient that indicates they are having a reaction to the vaccine during their 15-minute waiting period
  • Wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) appropriate to the assigned role (surgical mask for all roles and face shield or goggles for some roles)


The Ideal Candidate

To be minimally qualified for this position all applicants must have completed some high school courses ; and 0-3 ye ars of relevant experience.

To be considered an ideal candidate, applicants must possess the above as well as : a bility to follow protocols ; a bility to multi-task ; be flexible and function well under stressful pressured situations ; a bility to problem-solve independently but report issues to a supervisor ; e xcellent communication skills with colleagues, high-level customer service skills with the public and community organizations ; be willing and able to work in indoor and outdoor settings in variable weather and stand for long periods of time. Medical Reserve Corps experience is preferred.

Notes
*Please note this is a 60 day temporary position with a possibility for an extension.

Schedule:

Hours: Typically 7:30AM-5:30PM. Days variable and will include weekend days. Total hours per week may range from 10-40 hours. Preference given to individuals willing to work multiple shifts per week and up to 40 hours. Must be flexible with work schedule, as hours and days are subject to change depending on vaccine availability.

Training:

Will receive training in Incident Command Structure (ICS) and following chain of command, Biosafety and correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and POD (Point of Dispensing) structure and procedures
