Business Financial Analyst
Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO) has an immediate opening for a Business Financial Analyst in our Strategy & Innovation Services division. The primary functions of this position will be to team with the Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer to keep SMECO’s business strategy and operating model and practices relevant and competitive in a changing industry by implementing new and innovative policies, practices and technologies that improve member and employee experiences. This position will also create new products and services, and drive operational efficiencies and cost savings.
This position requires a candidate who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; learning about innovative technologies; and managing through ambiguity and change. The candidate also has experience with cost and financial modeling, business case development and analysis, technology evaluation and vendor management practices. Candidates knowledgeable about the electric utility industry a plus.
A four-year college degree with emphasis in accounting, finance or economics is required. Candidate must have three or more years of experience with financial modeling, business case analysis and Excel formulas. Experience with an electric utility or similar business in a financial advisory capacity is preferred.
Starting salary ranges between $63,800-$82,600. SMECO offers an excellent benefits program including a 401(k) 6% dollar for dollar match and additional 3% non-elective company contribution.
